Reiki

Beneath the noise of the world, there is a rhythm your soul remembers. Reiki is the whisper that brings you back to it - a current of light and love flowing through you, dissolving what no longer serves and awakening what's been waiting to blossom.

WHAT IS REIKI?

Reiki is a form of energy healing that originated in Japan. The word "Reiki" means "universal energy" and it flows through all living things. When this energy is blocked, or stagnant, it can contribute to physical and emotional imbalances.

In a Reiki session I gently place my hands on, or just above, my client's body, acting as a channel for this healing energy. The goal is to promote healing on physical, emotional, and spiritual levels.

THE ROLE OF AN ENERGY HEALER/REIKI PRACTITIONER

My role is to remain neutral - what's often called a "clear channel." This means I don't project my own agenda, emotions, or energy onto my clients. Instead of directing or fixing, I create a grounded, supportive space where healing can naturally unfold. I'm not guiding towards specific answers but simply facilitating a process that empowers them to access their own inner wisdom.

In this space of neutrality, my client's body can do what they innately know how to do - heal, release, and integrate. My job is to listen deeply, trust the process, and reflect on what is emerging, without interference. It's about honoring my client as the expert of their own experience while providing the energetic and emotional safety needed for transformation.

IS REIKI A MYSTICAL SKILL?

Energy healing isn't about acquiring a special power - it's about returning to a natural state of awareness. It's less about doing, and more about allowing. We all have the ability to sense subtle shifts, receive inner guidance, and feel into the energy around us, but in our fast-paced, overstimulated lives, we've often lost touch with this quieter, more intuitive part of ourselves.

The journey is one of remembering, not learning something entirely new. When we slow down, quiet the mind, and become fully present, we open the door to spontaneous forms of communication - through sensation, images, emotions, or inner knowing. These aren't imaginary; they're real responses from our body, our energy field, or something greater than ourselves. But we can only perceive them when we're in a relaxed, receptive state - one where the thinking mind softens and our intuitive awareness can come forward.

This is where practices like Reiki and Intuitive Meditation come in. They help us enter that state of calm openness intentionally. From this place, we can begin to notice what's been there all along: insight, healing, and a deeper sense of connection. We're not creating the experience - we're tuning into it. The more we practice, the easier it becomes to access this state of clarity and alignment, both in sessions and in everyday life.

WHAT TO EXPECT

People describe the experience as very relaxing - reporting sensations like warmth, tingling, or a feeling of peace. Some say they felt like they were floating or in a deep meditative state. Others feel nothing - and that's ok, Reiki still flows. It's gentle, non-invasive, fully clothed, and can be done in person or remotely (called "Distance Reiki"). While Reiki isn't a substitute for medical treatment, it is frequently used as a complementary therapy for many ailments and physical issues.

HEALTH BENEFITS

Stress Reduction & Relaxation

Reiki helps calm the nervous system and encourages a deep state of relaxation, which can support the body's natural healing processes.

Emotional Healing

It can help release stored emotional pain, anxiety, sadness, or trauma. Many people find Reiki sessions emotionally cathartic or comforting.

Pain Relief

While not a cure, Reiki is sometimes used to help ease physical discomfort from chronic pain, headaches, injuries, or tension in the body.

Sleep Improvement

Because it relaxes the body and mind, Reiki can help with insomnia or restless sleep.

Support During Illness or Recovery

Reiki is often used as a complementary therapy for people going through medical treatments such as chemotherapy, surgery, and radiation. It doesn't replace conventional medicine but can help improve comfort and well-being.

Spiritual Growth

For some, Reiki is a deeply spiritual practice. It's used to connect with inner guidance, enhance intuition, and promote a sense of peace and connection with the universe.

Chakra Balancing and Energy Clearing

Reiki practitioners often work with the Chakra system (read more), helping to clear energetic blockages and restore balance in the energy body.
